Elkan Investment Group is looking for an AI Software Engineer Intern to join our Data Engineering & Infrastructure team. In this role, you’ll help design and build intelligent backend systems and automated agentic workflows that collect, transform, and deliver financial and market data. You’ll work with large language model, agentic workflow development and validation, and financial intelligence tools to streamline how our team ingests, enriches, and analyzes information at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Develop LLM-powered data pipelines that automate data collection, validation, and enrichment.
- Build and maintain agentic workflows using orchestration tools like n8n to connect APIs, databases, and AI models.
- Integrate the Athena Finance platform with custom pipelines to unlock advanced financial analytics and insights.
- Improve LLM with internal MCP and RAG on agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Haystack) to automate complex reasoning and decision workflows.
- Write clean, modular, and reusable code that blends traditional data engineering with AI-driven automation.
- Design evaluation harnesses and monitoring systems for intelligent agents and automated pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to turn emerging AI techniques into production-ready workflows.
Who You Are
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering, or related field.
- Strong Python skills; familiarity with libraries like pandas, pySpark and LangChain.
- Experience or curiosity in workflow automation platforms (n8n, Airflow, Zapier for devs).
- Interest in AI-driven financial analytics, with exposure to tools like Bloomberg AI.
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong sense of code quality, automation reliability, and data integrity.
- Self-motivated, curious, and eager to prototype, test, and scale AI-driven workflows.
- Basic understanding of financial concepts (e.g., P/E ratio, market cap, earnings, SEC filings).
