Elkan Investment Group is seeking a Quant Analyst Intern for an 8-week summer internship designed for college students interested in applying machine learning (ML), data modeling / pipeline, and statistical analysis to real-world business problems. This program provides hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy, and ML algorithms, allowing interns to develop predictive models and data-driven insights while working on practical projects.
 
What You’ll Do
  - Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering using Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
 
  - Apply machine learning models to solve business problems, such as classification, regression, and clustering.
 
  - Develop predictive models and evaluate their performance using statistical metrics.
 
  - Learn data visualization techniques to present insights using Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Tableau.
 
  - Implement A/B testing and hypothesis testing to support data-driven decision-making.
 
  - Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to optimize data pipelines and workflows.
 
  - Document findings and present results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
 
Who You Are
  - Current college student pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
 
  - Interested in Python, Pandas, NumPy, and some machine learning frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
 
  - Experience with data manipulation, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
 
  - Understanding of statistical concepts, probability, and hypothesis testing.
 
  - Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and manipulation is a plus.
 
  - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business questions into data-driven solutions.
 
  - Effective communicator who can visualize and present insights in an intuitive way.
